Quick answer

Yes, you can migrate from GoHighLevel to Votel. MoveOver copies 23 HighLevel asset types into Votel, including contacts, pipelines, workflows, calendars, funnels and Voice AI agents, with anything live switched off until you review it. Phone numbers transfer separately and need a new A2P 10DLC registration, which usually takes 10 to 15 days, so start that first.

Before you move

Should you migrate from GoHighLevel to Votel?

I spent six years at HighLevel, and I'll say it plainly: if it's working, there's no prize for moving. But if you've already decided, here's how to do it without losing a lead.

Good reasons to move

  • You're rebuilding the agency around AI agents and want them in the same place as the CRM.
  • Clients struggle with the HighLevel interface, and you want a white-label experience you control.
  • You're paying for HighLevel plus a separate voice AI tool, and maintaining the sync between them.

Reasons to wait

  • The agency is working and clients are happy. Don't break that to chase something new.
  • You depend on HighLevel marketplace apps or features Votel doesn't have yet.
  • A client is mid-launch. Move them after, not during.
What moves

What moves from HighLevel to Votel?

MoveOver is a Chrome extension that copies a HighLevel sub-account into Votel: 23 asset types in all. Workflows, calendars and scheduled social posts arrive as drafts or switched off, so nothing fires before you've reviewed it. Contacts are matched by email, and existing Votel contacts are never overwritten.

AreaWhat comes across
Sites and lead capturePublished pages (as HTML), funnel structure, forms, surveys, calendars, upcoming appointments, media library files, trigger links
Automation and AIWorkflows, contacts mid-sequence, workflow emails, Voice AI agents, AI Studio projects
CRM and marketingContacts with tags, fields, notes and tasks; pipelines and stages; opportunities; message templates; tags; scheduled social posts
PaymentsProducts, coupons, open invoices
SettingsCustom field definitions, and custom values (they become Votel global variables)

From the MoveOver page as of October 2026. MoveOver writes a migration report listing anything that needs a decision from you (for example, a workflow step Votel can't run). Read it before you switch anything on.

What doesn't move

What doesn't move from HighLevel to Votel?

  • Users and permissions. Invite your team and set roles in Votel.
  • Phone numbers. Transferred separately (next section).
  • Domains, tracking codes and the email sender. Reconnect and re-verify.
  • Payment gateways and integrations. Reconnect Stripe and any other apps.
  • Social accounts. Reconnect them in Votel.
  • Conversation history on the contact. It's saved to your local archive on request, but it doesn't show on the Votel contact yet.
  • Past appointments, paid invoices and published social posts. Kept in the archive as history.
  • Workflow steps Votel can't run. Flagged in the report instead of guessed at.
  • Snapshots. MoveOver works account by account. Build your Votel template from a migrated account you've cleaned up.
Phone numbers and A2P

Can you keep your phone number when you move to Votel?

This is the slowest part of the move, so start it first. The number can transfer. Its settings and its texting approval don't.

StepWhat to do
Inventory the numberWrite down the number, Location ID, whether it's LC Phone or your own Twilio, routing, hours, and A2P details. Don't release it.
Buy a temporary Votel numberTest calls and texts on it while the old number keeps working.
Register A2P 10DLC in VotelBrand first, then Campaign. Texting approval doesn't follow the number, so this restarts. Allow roughly 10 to 15 days.
Ask Votel to prepare the transferConfirm the receiving account, the approver and a cutover window.
Request the transferFrom HighLevel Support for LC Phone, or Twilio Support if you brought your own account. Often 1 to 2 business days once they have every detail.
Cut overAttach the number in Votel, restore routing and voicemail, and test calls, texts, STOP and HELP. Plan a one to four hour window.
Watch itCheck closely for 24 hours, review again at 48 to 72, and only then cancel the old service.

Timings are planning guidance from the HighLevel to Votel phone migration guide, not a Votel guarantee. Texts sent to the old number during the switch don't forward automatically, so warn the client.

The plan

How do you migrate from GoHighLevel to Votel, step by step?

  1. Pick a pilot client. Small, friendly, not mid-campaign. Learn on them, not your biggest account.
  2. Start the phone work on day one. Buy the temporary Votel number and submit A2P. It's the longest lead time in the whole project.
  3. Set up the Votel agency. Your branding, domain and white-label settings, so the client never sees an unbranded screen.
  4. Run MoveOver on the pilot sub-account. Then read the migration report line by line.
  5. Reconnect what never transfers. Users, domains, email sender, payment gateway, integrations and social accounts.
  6. Review and switch on, one workflow at a time. Start with the ones that touch leads: new form fill, missed call, booking confirmation.
  7. Test end to end on the temporary number. Submit a form, call, text, book, cancel. Check each lands where it should.
  8. Transfer the number and cut over. In a quiet window, with the client told in advance.
  9. Run both for a week, then cancel. Keep the HighLevel sub-account until you've seen a full week of clean calls, texts and bookings in Votel.

After the pilot, write down what you had to fix by hand. That list is your checklist for every client after it.

FAQ

HighLevel to Votel migration FAQ

Can I migrate from HighLevel to Votel?

Yes. Most agencies do it in two parts. The account data (contacts, pipelines, opportunities, workflows, calendars, forms, funnels and more) moves with MoveOver, which copies 23 HighLevel asset types into Votel and leaves workflows and calendars switched off until you review them. Phone numbers move separately, through an account-to-account transfer and a fresh A2P 10DLC registration. The full plan is in how to migrate from GoHighLevel to Votel.

Can I migrate from GoHighLevel to Votel?

Yes. GoHighLevel and HighLevel are the same platform, so the path is the same: inventory the sub-account, run MoveOver to copy the data across, rebuild the few things that never transfer (users, domains, payment gateways, integrations), then move the phone number last. Run both side by side until calls, texts and bookings test clean in Votel. Expect the texting side to take the longest, because A2P approval doesn't follow the number and a new registration usually takes 10 to 15 days.

Will my HighLevel workflows migrate to Votel?

Yes, as drafts. MoveOver copies workflows, the contacts sitting mid-sequence and the workflow emails, but leaves them switched off. Any step Votel can't run is flagged in the migration report instead of being translated, so review each workflow before you turn it on.

Can I keep my phone number when I move from GoHighLevel to Votel?

Yes. Request an account-to-account transfer from HighLevel Support (LC Phone) or Twilio Support (your own account). The number moves, but its routing and its A2P texting approval don't, so register A2P in Votel early and run a temporary number in parallel until the transfer is done.

Does conversation history move to Votel?

Not onto the contact yet. MoveOver saves conversation history to your local archive when you ask for it, along with past appointments and paid invoices.

How long does a GoHighLevel to Votel migration take?

The data copy is the quick part. The phone number usually sets the pace: about 1 to 2 business days for the transfer once support has every detail, and roughly 10 to 15 days for a straightforward A2P registration. Plan two to three weeks for a pilot client, faster for the ones after.

Can HighLevel integrate with Votel?

Yes. From the HighLevel side, a workflow can send a contact to Votel the moment something happens (a form fill, a missed call, a pipeline move) using HighLevel's Custom Webhook action, and Votel can start an agent workflow from that webhook. Results come back through HighLevel's Inbound Webhook trigger, or through Zapier or Make if you'd rather not touch webhooks. The step-by-step version is in how to connect Votel to GoHighLevel.

Can Votel integrate with HighLevel?

Yes. Votel's documentation lists an OAuth connection to a GoHighLevel business location, plus an MCP-based GoHighLevel connection, and its voice, SMS and email agents can use connected tools while they're talking to a customer. Votel's integration catalog also lists an Import from GoHighLevel option. Availability changes, so check the agent integrations section of Votel's docs for exactly what the connection can do on your plan today.
